Doc’s Salt Free Hot Sauce was a product born out of accidental necessity. As a nephrologist (kidney doctor) and board certified hypertension specialist, Dr. Adrian Baudy spent significant time doing dietary counseling in his patients. Despite significant efforts to stress lower sodium intake, his patient would constantly say that they didn’t add salt to their food but would put hot sauce “on everything.” After working through several recipes in which the other 4 tastes (sweetness, sourness, bitterness, and umami), he eventually found one that even his hot sauce-loving father loved. The rest is history.
